Clever name, huh? Yup.
My study in curved seams paid off, and I’m very happy with how the actual curves turned out. The piecing? Not so much. But those curves! Not even one pucker! The trick for me ended up being going slowly and raising the foot less, though I did still have to raise it quite a bit. When I tried not raising it, just move the fabric with the needle down and presser foot lowered, ends weren’t lining up correctly and I was getting blocks like this:
So, the top is done, and I’ve basted it to the batting and reverse side. I even started to quilt it. But then I looked at the clock and realized the reason my children were suddenly going completley wack-o was because it was 30 minutes past lunchtime. So, quilting will wait. But I’m excited for it.
