Perfect Pattern Parcel #3 is here, and let me tell you friends, it’s a good one. Like, really good. I’ve sewn up a few things from the patterns, and today I get to show you my Jorna Dress.
Isn’t it so perfectly summery? I used a super-sheer orange/white jersey print, and the whole time I was sewing, I kept thinking of creamsicles. And so I thought how fun would it be to do the shoot while eating a creamsicle!?! And then I got a creamsicle, and the color was totally off, but still delicious.
The patterns this go-round are: Poppy Tunic by Make it Perfect, Water Bottle Tote by Radiant Home Studio, Jorna Tank Dress by Jenna Brand, Staple Dress by April Rhodes and the Bombshell Swimsuit by Closet Case Files. Plus, there is a bonus pattern, the Prefontaine Shorts for Women by Made with Moxie. Five patterns, you get to choose the price (seriously). The sixth, bonus pattern, is included if you choose to pay at least $28. Which, is a steal of a deal! My creamsicle dress is the Jorna Tank Dress by Jenna Brand. You may notice that my dress is not a tank. I added capped sleeves to mine because I like sleeves. Even with sleeves, this dress sewed up so fast. Like, so.fast. Like, cut-to-wear-in-an-hour fast. And it is so comfortable and flattering and just fun to wear. The cut of the skirt allows for tons of movement. I couldn’t actually twirl in the grass in my heels, but I did swing back and forth in an almost-twirly motion, see:
This is just such a great style of dress. It’s casual and comfortable, but can be dressed up easily, too.
The fabric I used came from the LA Garment District. It is really sheer, so I have to layer my dress with a camisole and a slip. Because of this, and because I was adding sleeves, I skipped the facings included in the pattern. My neckline is just turned and topstitched. The pattern comes in a good range of sizes, XS-XL, and three length options from tunic to dress. The instructions are clear and easy, and the best part? Instructions and pattern pieces, the entire PDF uses only 26 pages! So nice to not use a ream of paper for a pattern.
You can pick up the Jorna and all it’s Perfect Pattern Parcel friends HERE by June 13th
I was given the patterns from Perfect Pattern Parcel #3 to sew up and share with you. This is really awesome because these patterns are fabulous and I totally wanted them anyway!
