The Clover Shorts were designed by Hayley of Welcome to the Mouse House. She is so good at sweet, feminine details. And these shorts have them: cuffs, oversized button tabs, pleats, pockets, and my favorite: that sash! There are other options, too, and a good range of sizes.
I have been hoarding this Indian Summer fabric from Simple Sweet Fabric for a year now, waiting on the perfect project. It was a fat quarter bundle, so I didn’t have much of any one print. The Clover Shorts were perfect for it. I used two and a half fat quarters for the shorts, and love the fun, soft combination of prints. Unfortunately, I only had two of the most perfect soft turquoise buttons. I should have just chosen some others from my stash, but I *loved* how these looked on the shorts. So I used the two up front, and then just tacked down the back tab.
The fit is a bit baggy on Ivy in the bum. I made her the 12 month size, and knew from the size chart they’d still be a little big for her. But see that adorable sash? It cinches things right up, and the shorts don’t fall down on her at all. We should get at least two summers out of these shorts. Which is fabulous, because they are pretty much the cutest things ever!
