I recently had the opportunity to test the Catnap Pyjamas pattern for Make It Perfect.
I rarely, if ever, test patterns any more. I have such a backlog of things I want to sew, that adding anything else to the pile just doesn’t make it onto my priority list. But Ivy needed new PJs, and Toni, the designer behind Make It Perfect, does amazing work. I’ve long been a fan of her clean, simple, and professional style. So I jumped at the chance to test her newest pattern.
The Catnap Pyjamas have long sleeve/pant options, or short, which is what we went with for Ivy’s. I used a Cotton + Steel print, Tiger Stripes in Pink, that Ivy had claimed a year ago when I first bought it with no particular project in mind. I also used some vintage buttons my mom gave me, and that matched the fabric perfectly.
The PJs are a straight forward sew. The placket is done very simply and easily. But the real fun comes with the collar. Toni gives instructions on sewing the collar that are fantastic and totally new to me. I love new tricks!
You can grab the Catnap Pyjamas from Make It Perfect’s shop HERE, and check out her other fabulous patterns while you’re at it.
