More Ivy, like a lot of Ivy. I made her a lemon jumpsuit and it’s pretty much the cutest thing ever. I took 6.8 million pictures, and got tired of narrowing them down. So I’m pretty much going to just dump them all here, with a little bit of info from time to time, and call it good.
The pattern is the Ash Jumpsuit by Petit a’ Petit and Family. I first made this pattern for little two-year-old Ivy in 2014. It was one of our very favorites and she wore it as long as we could get away with it. I’ve wanted to make another ever since.
When I got my hands on this lemon print cotton from See Kate Sew a month or so ago, I immediately saw an Ash in its future.
I whipped a quick twisted headband after googling “turban headband”, and reading a few tutorials. I used leftover fabric from Ivy’s pineapple swim suit.
She pretty much hates the headband, but wore it without complaint for the shoot, before tearing it off her head in the car and refusing to wear it ever again. Perfect accessorizing is obviously lost on this child.
Thankfully, the jumpsuit she loves. She has worn it every time it’s clean, from the moment I took it off the machine.
We get compliments and comments on it all the time. She takes the “jumpsuit” quite literally, and is quick and happy to show off its “jumpiness”, as she calls it.
It’s as easy to wear as it is adorable. She can dress herself and take care of bathroom needs without an issue thanks to the stretchy neckband
I realize that an openback, halter-style jumpsuit isn’t the most conventional choice for a child’s fall wardrobe. But she’s been getting a ton of wear out of it while we’re still in these warmer months. Come cooler weather, we’ll throw a little white cardigan over the top and be ready to go.
