Today’s Näh Connection Shop share is another pattern from Die Erbsenprinzessen, undergarments for girls.
This is the same designer from the Ballet Suit/Leotard I shared a couple of days ago. Like the leotard, this was a simple sew with rewarding results. The pattern is for the underpants and a tank-style undershirt or a little cami-type bralett.
Again, I sewed the 104cm for my daughter. Unlike the spandex of the leotard, however, the cotton lycra I used here doesn’t hide the bagginess of the too-big size. I’m fine with it, however, as I know she will grow into them and I knew 104cm would be too big when I cut out the pattern.
The pattern shows multiple ways to finish the legs and waist. I went with some picot elastic for this pair. I’ve actually sewn up two other pair since, and used two different methods for those. All have been easy and worked out great.
I was able to sew up both tank and bottoms using only my serger and coverstitch machines. I love the professional finish.
