Have you seen Karl lately? I found Karl in Salt Lake City
That is, the new Karl Dress from German pattern designer, Schneidernmeistern. Karl dresses have been popping up all over social media and the blogosphere as the pattern launches, with each participant announcing where they spotted Karl. (so my Karl is in Salt Lake City. or close enough)
The Karl Dress is releasing today in both German and English. It’s a knit dress, and so quick and easy to sew.
My favorite design feature is the funnel neck. I feel like I need more funnel necks in my life
I sewed my Karl out of this amazing sweater knit I found in the Jo-Ann Red Tag section. It is warm and soft, and has an ombre weave. The grey is lightest at the center of the fabric, working its way to charcoal at the selvedge. I cut my Karl so that the light grey stayed front and center. In order to continue the gradient through the back, I cut my back piece as two pieces, rather than one on the fold
I really love the ombre effect with the Karl. I think it pairs so perfectly.
As this is the special release of the new pattern, there will be a 15% discount until
It just so happens that my Karl is the cover Karl for the pattern. Yes, I’m willing to autograph your copy. For a small fee.
Just kidding. But really, I’m very flattered Monika liked my dress enough to choose it to represent her amazing pattern.
And be sure to check out more of Karl over at Schneidernmeistern, including some pattern hacks later this week. Where will you find Karl next?
