Almost through the marathon that has been this Kindergarten Wardrobe Fashion Show! Today, we have a tunic with leggings, and a model that was pretty much at her end of modeling, but insisted on finishing things up. Yep, she insisted. She was determined to get it done all in one morning. This was the second to last outfit, and she was a little bit punch drunk, I think.
Also, by this point, my camera had run out of storage room. So I did these on my cell phone. The colors are just a bit off, darnit.
Anyway, the outfit.
The tunic is listed as an oversized tee in the Ottobre issue 1/2016. It’s pattern # 17. I have mixed feelings on it. As a tee, it’s super east to sew. But I feel like it needs something else on it, like pockets or something, to not look so nightshirt-esque.
I guess it could have something to do with the fabric I used. It is darling fabric, that Ivy picked out a few months ago and I just had never done anything with. It’s by Znok Designs, which is one of my absolute favorite manufactures. Their fabrics are always the best quality, washing and wearing fantastically. But I do wish I had done a chest pocket or maybe some lower pockets at the hip.
Ivy even asked where the pockets were when she first tried it on, so I guess that is something to note for next time.
The leggings are just basic leggings. Another #22 from issue 1/2017. The fabric I used was a much looser drape, though. And they are pretty baggy.
I’m not sure they count as leggings or just knit pants, since they are so loose? Whatever, a quick sew and they will work with multiple tops.
